MEET THE TEACHER
ANA SORIA
Ana Soria was born in Montevideo, Uruguay.
She has worked in the English Language Teaching field since 1995, running Somerset House ELS Uruguay since 1998 as well as the Panama branch since 2010.
She holds a TESOL degree from Trinity College London and a Postgraduate degree in College Teaching from International House, UK. In 2019 she got a degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Leicester and has recently completed Online Teaching at Cambridge University.
In 2007, the Uruguayan Civil Aviation Authority accredited her as a Linguistic Competence Rater under ICAO standards, as well as her school, as a registered Linguistic Competence Testing centre.
In 2010 she moved to Panama, where she´s worked as an airline consultant running the English Language Program for Pilots "Loud&Clear" as well as "Roger That”, an aviation English language program for student pilots.
In the airline sector she performed duties as an interpreter, pilot ground instructor and also belonged to the pilot recruiting team as a language competence rater.
In 2018 she moved to Argentina and in 2020 she moved back to Montevideo, where she currently lives. She has delivered online courses to pilots around the globe for over 5 years.

Positive Rate started in 2008 in Montevideo, Uruguay.
It was founded by English language teachers, pilots and technicians with sound knowledge of the aviation sector.
